Mama's Glow  {Austin Maternity Photographer}

The sun was falling in the sky casting it's warm glow onto mama, but she didn't need it.  She had a glow all her own.

Another Wildflower Sighting {Austin Child Photographer}

Just when you thought wildflower season was over!  I love it when clients suggest their own locations.  This adorable family not only frequents this park (and it therefore has significance to them), but it had wildflowers to boot!   And, the sweet girls dresses not only coordinated with each other beautifully, but with the flowers too!

It is amazing how truly hot it is, even in the early morning hours!  These beautiful families held strong and didn't sweat a lick!  And, look at their adorable outfits!   Thank you for the opportunity to capture this moment in your lives!

Scout Out  {Austin Children Photographer}

In the business world, especially small business, people are very protective of their work.  There are turf lines drawn and doors closed.  But not with Magan (check her out!:  http://portfolio.maganslens.com/ ).  She is a fellow photographer and shares and is super nice too!  We went location scouting back in February (remember coats?!) to check out Laguna Gloria, which is beautiful! 

I recently purchased a few new photoshop tools (actions) and still haven't spent much time with them.  I always go back to what I know.  This time, I thought I'd try the new ones on for size and even tried a new workflow.   I was shooting for "cooler" (as in opposite of warmer), but didn't quite get there.  Course, my subject IS wearing brown.  I still like them though.  Magan created this http://blog.maganslens.com/?p=1732 about our day...which inspired my mini-version.

Sweet Baby Cate {Austin Newborn Photographer}

I had the distinct pleasure of capturing this baby in the belly, just a few days old and again for a "real" session at about 3 months old.  What a beautiful baby!  As my husband says: now that's a good head shape. 

Mom and I were joking how much she looks like Daddy.  But, I have to tell you, after processing these images, she's going to be stunning, just like her Mama.

Rewards not Bribes {Austin Children Photographer}

I read a while back that in the ancient times the Jews rewarded their children for learning with honeycakes.  Therefore connecting happiness with learning.  It worked for them, it works for me.  Course, I'm not really sure what they learned today except that they don't like the "10 clicks of the camera before the first lick" rule.  I learned (again) that if you want your kids to smile, give them sugar.

Happy First Birthday!  {Austin Children Photographer}

Oh this little girl was adorable!  Almost, just almost, makes me want another baby.  Occupational hazard.  She had a gooo-oooood weekend.  Birthday party with cake Saturday and her very first lollipop on Sunday.  Super cute big brother warmed up with the word "lollipop" too.  Super sweet family.  Happy Birthday Little One!  Don't grow up too fast!

...on a technical note, I was told that my images are too large for some screens, so until I can figure out dynamic image sizing, the images will be slightly smaller...

For the love of the Juice Box

What a spunky and fun family.  They had such great spur-of-the-moment ideas and we just ran with them!  Dad was a hoot and Mom was beautiful and boy was ready to play.  And, of course, there's that oh-so-powerful juice box.

Laughter, Longhorns and Lollipops

OK, so you won't see the lollipop pictures because the groom-to-be asked me to kindly not post those. I don't know why not - a grown man eating an oversized lollipop? Course, I'm not sure why he's worried - he's already got the (great) girl!

This beautiful couple is getting married in October at the UT Alumni center - and thought it would be sweet to do their engagement session there.  I couldn't agree more!  It was so romantic to know that in a few short months they would tie the knot at that very spot - and be together forever. 

I also want to say thank you to this couple, because they were up for anything!   You two were amazing!  I know you're wedding is going to be so much fun!
